House on the Market (kind of...)

Well, we finally sucked it up and put our house "on the market." So far we have advertised on Craig'slist Kansas City, and another free site, postlets.com. We have received quite a few calls, all from realtors. Oh, well. At least they have an interest in the property and could bring some potential buyers our way. We have gotten pretty good at politely refusing their services, but it is hard sometimes!


If you haven't been to our house recently, the family room has been completely rearranged for a couple of reasons. First, it wasn't arranged well to begin with, so we needed to show how the space could be utilized to sell the house. Secondly, I needed space to do Let's Play Music classes and didn't want to move my furniture every time I had to teach. I decided the front living room was the best place for the lessons because that way no one would have to see the rest of my house! Oh, and the piano is in that room...

Ahh, and the real winning feature in our house, the gigantic master suite. I now realize I sat down on the bed before picture time! Woops!

Graci, 6 months already??

6 Months Old

Time to cover a month worth of Graci tales. Let's see, Graci started on solids a couple weeks before she turned five months. I started with rice cereal of course and mixed it with breast milk. Yum! She loved it! I tried it with formula and it was still a hit. Then I just mixed it with water. This is where Piper drew the line, but Graci still scarfed it down. After she turned five months we did some mashed banana. Once we added that to the rice cereal there was no going back to rice cereal with just water. The bananas were too yummy. A couple weeks later we did applesauce, but since I only buy the unsweetened kind she tolerated it, but preferred bananas. Finally we tried some sweet potatoes and I think those are the favorite of all. I'm going to try making some food myself this time around. I think the ice cube tray method sounds the easiest and will help the food last the longest. I didn't bother with Piper because I found such a sweet deal on baby food that was clearanced at the grocery store that I had enough to get her through the baby food months.

I suppose I should update on Graci's bedtime craziness. After trying everything we could think of to keep her from waking up 45 minutes after we put her down every night, we finally gave up and decided it was time to let her put herself to sleep. It took some tweaking of course, but now she is asleep within five minutes of the lights going out. She sleeps through the night with the exception of teething. We never experienced this with Piper because her teeth came at 11 months when she could tolerate it much better and even then she still didn't have many teeth and doesn't to this day for her age!

Graci is still a very happy baby. She loves to sit up and Piper and Xena are her favorite forms of entertainment. She's not much for sleeping during the day so I really have to plan things out so she can get one good, long nap in and if she gets two, it is a rare treat. Otherwise she just catches her sleep on the go in the truck. I can't remember more than five times she has lasted an entire ride without sleeping, even the five minute quick trips to the store.
