Piper's Latest Discovery

A few weeks ago Piper discovered her belly button. Last week, during her 15-month check-up, Piper sat on my lap in her diaper as the doctor wrote notes in her file. She thought that was the appropriate time to show him that she knows the location of several of her body parts, starting with her belly button of course. I think she continued on with her nose and ears. Anyway, if you ask her where her belly button is, she'll point to it if it's accessible, and give you a huge grin in the process.

Really Cute

Yesterday evening Peter prepared a Family Home Evening lesson for us. We haven't been really good about doing them in the past, so we're tring to step it up. Anyway, after Peter gave the lesson I said, "So, does this mean I'm in charge of the song, the snack, and the prayer?" He said, "Well, we could have Piper do the prayer." Piper's prayers so far have consisted of randomly dropping her head and mumbling during various times at the table. Peter turned to her and said, "Piper, will you give us the prayer?" Piper dropped her head, mumbled something under her binky, and popped her head right back up. Then we sang her a primary song. When we finished with the song she did the same thing, dropping her head, mumbling, and popping back up. We repeated the song-prayer process a few more times before deciding it was time for Pipey to go to bed. Maybe next time we'll try it all in order!
